LIVING IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST MEANS WE GET OUR FAIR SHARE OF RAINY DAYS BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOUR PHOTOS ARE RUINED. I ALWAYS WATCH THE WEATHER CLOSELY TO MAKE SURE YOUR SESSION IS EVERYTHING YOU ENVISIONED, WHETHER WE WAIT FOR CLEAR SKYS OR DANCE IN THE DRIZZLE.

If you've lived in or visited Western Washington for more than a minute, you already know rain happens, especially once we get into the -berrrr months. Sometimes it's a mist, sometimes a drizzle, and sometimes (like today) it feels like you're in the middle of the cloud and could shower outside. That can make timing for photoshoots a little like a dance, however here's the good news, we can still make magic happen.

If I could have any super power in the world I would control the weather, but unfortunately I haven't been bitten by anything radioactive yet, so instead I watch the weather obnoxiously. I start 10 days out, pull the hour by hour forecast and rinse and repeat until the day of your session. Weather apps aren't perfect, however I've learned to read the patterns, manifest sunshine, and trust my western wa instincts to make the final call. I'll always keep you in the loop on what the sky looks to be doing and we can decide together whether to reschedule or dance in the rain.

Sometimes the mist gives a dreamy glow, sometimes we find ourselves in the eye of the storm, sometimes we can bring clear umbrellas and lean into the rain, and sometimes unfortunately it dumps 2 inches of rain in a 24 hour period and we've got to call it until another day. All along the way I've got your back and will do everything in my human power to make you feel the most comfortable and that your session is a priority, because to me it is. I look forward to chatting about the weather with you all soon <3
